Final Series

So, the last week or so has been incredibly stressful. I may not pull out with a 4.0 this semester.. but i'm over it. This is the most credits i've ever taken.. so i count that as an accomplishment haha. Anyway, here is my final series for photography. It is about people and their ways to cope with the world, get away, think, etc. The final four are the ones i printed to turn in hard copies of.

DAYS 5-13

DAY 5: For two dollar Tuesday, we went to the movies. Movies are a big part of mine and Chase's life. Growing up our families were huge movie lovers. There really is something magical about going to the theater. I can't even begin to say just how many songs alone are about that magic. We saw the movie Warrior, which though the language was a bit rough, the story was absolutely amazing.
DAY 6: We are blessed to have the Knecht's in our ward. It was Hannah's birthday, and they wanted some new pictures as they have been married about 2 1/2 years now. I was happy to do it, especially to build up my portfolio. The weather was awesome, and even a bit warm.
DAY 7: To be honest, Thanksgiving day was so busy and fast that by the time I realized I hadn't taken a photo yet, we were crawling into bed. The feast was over, and we decided to venture out into the Black Friday midnight madness. We got back at about 3:30 am, and this is simply a small detail of the shirt Chase bought for me. Lovely.
DAY 8: After Thanksgiving there was a surprising amount of Christmas lights up already. We took the extra leisure time to take a drive around to take a look. This is one of my favorite activities of the Christmas season.
DAY 9: Many families have the rule that no Christmas paraphernalia may go up until after Thanksgiving. We hold true to that belief. So, after the feasting was over, we decided to put up our humble tree. To some it may seem a "Charlie Brown" tree, standing at 3 feet tall, but to us it is perfect for now.
DAY 10: Over Thanksgiving, we took the liberty of having a Lord of the Rings Marathon with the Kunz's. We watched all three extended versions, and finally finished the last one. It was bittersweet, i must admit.
DAY 11: For Family Home Evening this week we invited over two couples from our ward that we didn't know very well. We had a wonderful lesson, great conversation, delicious snacks, and our favorite game: Ripple. The game stats were surprisingly close, and we played for a lot longer than we should have.
DAY 12: I went out to photograph for class, and little did I know this would end up being the one I printed. It had snowed a bit previously, and unbeknownst to me the ground was quite moist... more moist than i expected. It was just one of those days.
DAY 13: After a long day at school, and straight to "The Drowsy Chaperone", the skies were completely dark, and the traffic lights made beautiful patterns with a bit longer exposure.

DAY 4

After a year of marriage, the ring was placed in a shoe at a flag football game. Upon returning home, the ring was no longer in the shoe and nowhere to be found. Six months and an E-bay ring later, while searching under the car seats it was found. A miracle, considering that the said car has been vacuumed many times since the fateful day. Needless to say... I cried.

DAY 3

Pie cook-off. 5 pies and only scraps, full tummies, and dirty dishes left.

DAY 2

Now this may not be a beauty to behold by many, but simply take a moment to view the perfect draining of this bathroom sink. Chase was kind (and incredibly manly) enough to take apart and clean all of the piping out. A blessing in my life to have a clean, draining sink, and a reminder of the loving husband of mine.

DAY 1

For photography class we have a little assignment for the next two weeks to post a picture a day on our blogs. The picture is not suppose to be anything fancy, but simply a small moment from our day. So, my first day of this assignment was a Friday night at home.
Nothing better than a homemade pizza braid to wind down after an incredibly stressful week, because if there is one thing you should know it is that i love cooking. There was an extra amount of gratification from making this though, because this one turned out beautiful and not to mention incredibly delicious!

I couldn't resist posting a few others of what it looked like pre and post baking

Details you probably don't want, but I'm giving you anyway.

As I plan to graduate in July, I am struggling through 18.5 credits, work, feeling like all of my professors hate me, managing apartments, and trying to make dinner at night. All of us need a post to relieve some stress every once in a while, right? Today, or for that matter, this month has been one of those times.
I recently read this article in a magazine about becoming a better you. It included sections for how to be more attractive, how to make the best decision while ordering at a restaurant, etc. Most of the explanations were quirky and comical, but under the "How to perform at your maximum capacity", it said to skip. At first i thought... skip your responsibilities? As I kept reading, I promptly realized that they were talking about the action of physically skipping down the street. Needless to say, I've been needing a lot of skipping in my life lately. "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't."
Despite all of the stress, life is truly wonderful. It's amazing when you feel like you couldn't possibly fit anything else into your day and then all of the sudden you take care of your church calling, go to the temple, etc. All of the sudden magically, yet quite pleasingly, your time becomes a little more like our Heavenly Fathers'.
Hope about some pictures?

Alright.. so this picture was taken in pitch darkness.. no flash... just a 30 sec exposure. It was awesome.

And last but not least...
Also, I just took my sister's family pictures last weekend. They turned out well, so those will be posted shortly.

Claire

Guys can i tell you how great yesterday was?! I got to see my best friend Kayleigh and her husband Randy! It was awesome! We got to eat dinner and chat... I came to the realization... again.. that we are like the same person. I wish they didn't live in Provo... but anyway! Here's some maternity pictures of Claire. She is due for a little baby girl in October. I am so excited to get more nieces and nephews from Chase's side. This baby will be a bombshell too... i mean look at her mom...

The Helms

guys i have so much to talk about.. but first.. let's talk about Travis and Lindsay. Travis and Lindsay got married last Saturday, August 6 in Richland, Washington at the Columbia River, LDS temple. Guys, these are the funniest, most attractive people i know! Seriously though.. I had to do like nothing to their pictures. They are so in love and they share so many interests in common. Their wedding was so cute, and I am so excited for them!
